Taking the Course

Each section requires 100% video watch time and passing quiz scores before you can move on. Even at 99.9% completion, the system won't unlock the next section. Make sure you've watched every video in full and answered all quiz questions correctly.

All Work Zone Safe courses are completely free. There is no charge to enroll, take the course, or download your certificate. Ever.

Free courses

Our courses are available 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Take it at 3 AM on a holiday if you want, we won't judge.

Nope. Your progress is saved automatically. Close the browser, come back tomorrow, pick up right where you left off. Life happens, we get it.

Most people finish in about 45 minutes. That includes reading all sections, watching every video, and answering the quiz questions.

  • Read through each section
  • Watch all videos in their entirety (100% watch time)
  • Answer all quiz questions correctly
  • That's it, no final exam, no trick questions

Certificates display the name you used when you registered. If there's a misspelling, you'll need to re-enroll with the correct information using a new email address. We cannot manually edit certificates after they've been generated.

You must have a separate account with a distinct name and email for each person in the household who wants to take and complete the course.

If a parent creates the login with their email, have the student enter their own name when registering.

No, participation in scholarship drawings and prize giveaways is completely voluntary and optional. Completing the course does not automatically enter you into anything.

Account & Email

This usually happens for one of two reasons:

  • School or work email filters may be blocking our messages. Try using a personal email (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) instead.
  • Check your spam/junk folder, our emails sometimes end up there.

If you're still having trouble, contact your school or work IT administrator to ensure there is no security layer blocking emails from the course, including the completed course certificate PDF.

Enroll in your state's specific course if one is available. If your state doesn't have a dedicated course, take the free National Work Zone Safe course, it covers the fundamentals that apply everywhere.

State-Specific Requirements

Connecticut offers two separate courses:

  • Connecticut Work Zone Safe, for drivers age 17 and under, or anyone obtaining a Learning Permit
  • Connecticut Work Zone Safe Ticket, for court-ordered completion after a work zone violation

Note: If your license has been expired for 2+ years, you'll need to complete all testing requirements again, including obtaining a learner's permit. See Connecticut DMV Learning Permit Requirements.

It depends on your age:

  • Age 17 and under, Yes, it's required. Take the North Carolina Work Zone Safe for Teens course.
  • Age 18+, voluntary but encouraged. Take the North Carolina Work Zone Safe course.

Yes. Completion is mandatory for teens to receive their intermediate driver's license. After finishing the course, you'll need to download your certificate and submit it to Service Oklahoma.

Yes! Our free course satisfies Wisconsin's required 30 minutes of Work Zone Safety instruction. The course is WisDOT-approved, so you're fully covered.

Reach out anytime through the Contact Us section. When reaching out about a specific student, please include the course name, the student's name, and the email address they used to register.
